Collaboration notes so far: 2 comments each please

Collaboration Agreement Notes
-every voice heard, consideration for personalities and opinions
-alternative ways for voice is equally heard
-the role of a vote as last resort, not always best resolution
-reach an agreement through dialogue and compromise rather than
majority/minority

-shared responsibility and all roles are evenly distributed
-varying talents could be efficient, but sharing/teaching talents
should be welcomed
-positive team mentality and group motivation, setting up guidelines

-clear guidelines for what we are working towards and all should be
working towards a collective goal
-no secrets
-use blog and meetings for communication
-create a paper trail for group decisions, pick someone to
communicate it to the whole group
-there is a responsibility to not only be heard, but to speak
-complete confidentiality within the group
-want a process that is totally respectful to the work

-might have a process where everyone writes an opinion before anyone
says anything
-protect your opinion

-create a program that reflects the group
-commit to the time frame*
-no program of compromises
-do the best to focus and understand the work

I like the idea of writing down ideas and opinions. This might be helpful later in the program/film notes, which would be an even more accurate representation of the collaboration, rather than just having 1 or 2 people write all the notes on his/her own.

Also, I like the group motivation point. We should encourage each other to speak up and share viewpoints. I think honesty is something that should be on this list too, and no one should feel intimidated or scared to share new thoughts or ideas.

I think the most important thing is the idea of every single voice being heard. The end product should really be something that everyone on the team feels satisfied with and should reflect our collective voice. So the fact that we have different forums to get our opinions across is really important, because if someone feels slightly intimidated to mention something during class or meetings, they can always communicate through the blog or through emails. It sets up a comfortable means for everone to express their opinions. So it's a good idea to have the graphics, film notes, etc. posted on the blog, so everyone can be involved in each detail :O)

I also really like the idea of trying to effectively understand and focus on the work itself, because as the semester comes to a close everything is getting busier and harder, but really watching a film and trying to compose our own ideas of what it’s about, and what it says thematically is critical. Asking the important questions about the meaning or structure of the film is imperative to assembling a cohesive program, where all the films reflect and compliment one another. So when viewing the films we should focus on what the film is trying to say and if there's an underlying theme that creeps up with most of the films.

I completely agree, I think it is very important that we all get our voice out there, this is a group effort and that should be reflected in the work as well.

I also think it is particularly important that everyone knows everything, and like the cooperation agreement says, that we don't have any secrets from anyone else, that we all know all the information and how everyone feels about a particular work.
